Yes, dogs that are not suitable for group play are still welcome to stay overnight at Bark 'N Lounge, but they will not be able to join group play. A basic temperament test is given to all new dogs. Your dog will be evaluated on his first day to better understand his behavior so we can customize the pets care accordingly
Because your dog's safety is our number one concern, all dogs must pass a temperament test to be enrolled in our daycare program. This test will assess the social behavior of your dog. On his/her first day, he/she will be introduced to other dogs one by one to observe his or her behavior. If the one on one introductions go well, your dog is evaluated with multiple dogs. We are looking for signs of fear or aggression that could result in a safety issue for your dog or other guests. Dogs that do not pass the temperament test are still welcome to board at Bark 'N Lounge, but they will not be able to join group play.

Unaltered males often exhibit more behavior and temperament problems, including aggression towards animals and people, and attempts to escape. In general, animal welfare organizations and veterinarians agree that spaying and neutering pets is a responsible decision that will not only reduce the over-population of pets, but will benefit the pet in many ways.
Yes, we create play groups based on temperament and size to ensure all dogs feel safe.
Verbal correction and redirection is the first method of behavior modification. Spray bottles filled with water are used to get the attention of dogs that do not respond to verbal correction. When needed, we use the “time-out" method to teach proper manners. Time-Out involves separating the dog from the others for a short period of time. This is done to teach the dog that poor behavior choices lead to a temporary loss of play privileges
Yes, we have staff here taking care of your pets every day for breakfast, dinner, potty breaks, and play time. Our lobby hours do not reflect the hours that we have staff on site taking care of your pets. In some instances during doggie naptime, 12-2 – staff may not be present to ensure dogs do get a period of rest without disturbance between their playtimes.
